Satellite Crush’s Stateside Brit-pop
Every once in a while we tilt that British isle on its head in order to shake out what acts they’ve got left in the Brit-pop arenas. Our fondness for likes of The Cure and Coldplay often lead us across the Atlantic in search of that next cathartic band to cozy up to in our headphones—this time, we need look no further than our own backyard with L.A.’s Satellite Crush.
On the heels of a break-up, Ohio-born front-man Elliot Craig moved to London in attempt to do some soul searching and start a band. With not much luck in the gloom off the Thames, Craig returned State-side and joined up with three other lads ready to do some rocking, and adopted the name Satellite Crush in reference to songs written in the wake of his breakup.
With a sound ready to accompany that melancholy cup of English-Breakfast, Anglophiles will be pleased by the band’s freshman EP effort Arrows of Eros available for download on itunes. With wintry tracks like “Jealousy,” and “Strictly Platonic,” Arrows of Eros is a well-rounded sample of good things anticipated from Satellite Crush. Get excited!
