us royaltyThe four-member Washington D.C. band, U.S. Royalty, seems to enjoy rocking the fitted jeans, button-down and bearded look; as well as reveling in that all-American attitude with a sound that swings from revved-up guitar riffs that scream rock, to emotional, moody melodies that screams (or in some cases, lulls) a more indie outlook.

Started by brothers John and Paul Thornley and later joined by drummer Luke Adams and bassist Jacob Michael, U.S. Royalty is new on the indie rock scene but these guys have wasted no time wetting their feet with a multi-city US tour and a couple of music videos to boot. The beautiful video for their single “Every Summer,” directed by Jake Davis, features the group jamming in an empty room and mulling over life by a bonfire of crates. The song is a great introduction to the band’s understated style and lyrical ingenuity, and the perfect song for those cool and lazy summer nights. U.S. Royalty will make stops in North Carolina, Florida, Georgia and New York as a part of their US fall tour, so be sure to catch them if you’re in the area!
