Gogol Bordello Get ‘Trans-Continental’ for New Album
Gogol Bordello are back with a new album and a great fundraising event. Due out April 27th, Trans-Continental Hustle is the fifth studio album by the New York City based Gypsy-esque band.
Always known for their eclectic take on music, this album stays in that ideal of being different especially with front man Eugene Hutz’s new inspiration of his current country, Brazil. The album is the follow up to 2007’s Super Taranta, which was released to mass appeal. It was produced by renowned produced Rick Rubin and takes the band further into their world of musical variety.
The album also introduces the new members drummer Oliver Charles, Ethiopian bassist Thomas Gobena (Bill Laswell) and Latino American percussionist Pedro Erazo-Segovia that will be joining Hutz and the rest of the traveling band.
In addition to their new album, Gogol Bordello are hitting The Fillmore New York at Irving Plaza for a benefit concert for Haiti with a portion of the proceeds going straight to the American Red Cross.
