New Flames From The Library Is On Fire
Waist deep in music, Steve Five has a formidable wrap-sheet that predates his success in Brooklyn’s The Library is on Fire. The front-man of the 3-piece has engineered albums for the likes of Red Dawn II and Oneida, and toured as the sound-engineer for noise-rock outfit Ex-Models.
After pulling himself back together after the 2004 suicide of a close friend and bandmate, Five left the cold of Ohio for a different kind of cool in Brooklyn and started writing songs.
After hooking up with bassist Mark Shue and drummer Pete Sustarsic, the trio formed The Library is on Fire in 2007 and released their debut Casette the following year. An album with great grunge-energy and smart cathartic song-writing, the band hit the road in 2008 and in their debut performance at Grassland’s Gallery, they split the bill with The Ting-Tings.
After teaming with famed producer Todd Tobias, writing sessions have birthed a new 15 track full-length album Magic Windows, Magic Nights due out online March 2, and in-stores April 6. Get excited to check out some new tunes of inglorious sadness and wintry reflection from Steve Five and co.
