Hugh Cornwell Is Coming to America!
Hugh Cornwell is definitely in the people pleasing business. The Stranglers’ frontman is set hit the US on a cross country tour and he’s giving away his latest album Hooverdam for free.
The UK legend has not really shed his new wave punk sensabilities; he’s matured into blending his roots with R&B, post-punk and general rock.
Released in 2008, the making of Hooverdam was documented on film and released as Blueprint to a small theatrical release. Like the albums released by Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails, Cornwell had Hooverdam be free to the public from its initial release.
Cornwell’s spring tour will not just be for the sake of touring; the San Francisco stop on March 30th will be part of the Jay Siegan Present “In the Name of Love” concert series, which has been sending a percentage of the proceeds to the Haiti relief effort via Doctors Without Borders.
