The Morning Pages Begin New Chapter
The East Coast’s best kept secret is ready to come out. The Morning Pages, based out of New York but has members from all over the country, will be unveiling the physical copy of their full length debut Rising Rain (Zealous) in May.
The follow up to the EP The Company You Keep, Rain was digitally released in August of 2009 and features the base of all rock ’n’ roll influences like folk, soul and country. Instead of sounding like a throwback, the sextet has mixed the sounds in their own way making some groovy jams for fans and audiences to stand back and enjoy.
But besides the musical genres the Pages’ sound also comes from the different origins of the band members; cities like Nashville, San Francisco, Austin and Tulsa bring in the country vibe while the NYC setting brings the finesse and sophistication to the music.
The first single of off Rain, “My Name Is Lion,” is a melancholy number that shows off the skill of these musicians as the instruments all compliment each other in their simplicity yet intricate working. The lyrics and vocals bring you along on the story and make you feel connected.
