Twelve Ways To Look At The New Holopaw Album
Oh Glory, Oh Wilderness is the third studio album from Gainesville rockers Holopaw. What’s interesting about this release if that the band asked twelve visual artists to interpret the 11 track album into a work of art. The result? An eclectic mix of visual art ranging from paintings, videos, collages, and performance art. The picture for this article is one of the submissions from artist Micha Drew. The idea came from a lyric found in “The Lazy Matador” a song on Oh Glory, Oh Wilderness, “In the retelling let it be rendered just a pinprick, just a puncture, just a scratch.” Holopaw is currently uploading the twelve “retellings” of visual art on their blog. Be sure to check out what people came up with. Of course Holopaw is encouraging fans to also submit their own art inspired by the album, whether it be a visual or even a remix of a track from Oh Glory, Oh Wilderness. If you’d like to share your work with the band submit it to holopawmusic@gmail.com . If you are looking for a little inspiration, here’s an exclusive download of the opening track to Oh Glory to get those creative juices flowing.
