Brooklyn natives, The Blood Sugars are out to make a name for themselves with their first full length album from Engine Room Recordings, I Can’t Go On, I’ll Go On as well as two-week long tour beginning in a couple days.

The band, who met in college, don’t like to write melancholy songs, and instead combine each of the members’ individual tastes into a polished blend of pop, garage rock and even some jazz. Upon first listen, you might get a sense Flaming Lips meets Elvis Costello that is enticing to the ear if you are a fan of either.

I Can’t Go On, I’ll Go On is a fun, first rate indie-pop album that follows along the lines of Vampire Weekend and The Shins, “a modern prom playlist” says frontman, Jason Rabinowitz. The record also features dignitaries such as Colette Alexander, cellist for Rilo Kiley as well as The National’s trumpet player Kyle Resnick.

Check out “The Light at the End of the Tunnel” off the new album NOW and be sure to catch them on tour!
