phish2More than 40,000 attendees had their minds blown this past Halloween weekend at Phish’s long anticipated Festival 8, a three-day jam-fest set in the sweltering desert in Indio, California.

Thousands of devoted Phish phans camped out to see the “musical costume” the band put on for Halloween.  The winning performance was a 100 minute detailed cover of the Rolling Stone’s timeless album Exile on Main Street. They’re adaptation was complete with extended jams and embellishments including horn players and special guest Sharon Jones.

Following their Halloween spectacular, Sunday also set a high standard marking their first ever all acoustic set after 20+ years touring!  Fans respected singer Trey Anastasio’s request to take a seat while they played mellower tunes, only to stand back up after five songs during fan favorite “The Curtain (With).”

Phish recently got back together after their supposed last performance in 2004, and just released their fourteenth album Joy in September.  Festival 8 lured fans from across the country to see the band perform an epic eight sets in three days.
