Southern Rockers Israel Darling Release Debut Album and Tour Dates
Anyone who has been raised in a religious environment understands the inner turmoil when faced with moral conflicts. For singer/songwriter Jacob Darden of Israel Darling, his experiences as devout Baptist turned self proclaimed Atheist are the driving force behind his music.
Based in North Carolina, Israel Darling is an eight-member piece band led by Darden’s honest songwriting and brash vocals. The group recently signed with NYC’s Engine Room Recordings and released their debut album Dinosaur Bones and Mechanical Hands in August.
Influenced by past experiences and destructive choices, which led to a brief period in the hospital, Darden’s songwriting expresses the struggle with personal issues and religious ideals. Their music is moving and emotional with strong ties in southern folk-rock.
Last week Israel Darling was announced on Pop Tarts Suck Toasted’s blog as ”Band of the Week.” The group has just started on a tour around North Carolina and Tennessee, and you can check out Israel Darling’s music on their Myspace.
