Canada has a knack for spreading some of the best indie-pop on the planet, and the newest addition to their roster is Hey Ocean! The trio of Ashleigh Ball, David Beckingham and David Vertesi bring a retro 60’s sound to the table that is undeniably brilliant. With male and female counterpart vocals and dreamy guitars, this is one group you’ll want to hear more of. The band are still touring in support of their sophomore album, It’s Easier To Be Somebody Else on their own label, Pop Machine, which they created with fellow friends and label mates, Said the Whale.

The group pride themselves on their D.I.Y. approach which is very admirable. Hey Ocean! is said to put on a brilliant live show that you won’t soon forget and New York City lucks out this Thursday, October 15th at Piano’s where the band will appear before heading back to Canada!
