Mumford and Sons Bring the UK Folk Stateside
Indie Brit newcomers Mumford & Sons are hitting those trusty old American highways this spring with a cross-country tour.
Kicking off in Montreal (that’s Canada, fyi) in May, the tour will wind all around the country. The tour is in support of the band’s US February debut Sigh No More which has been gaining the band some mass appeal.
The quartet, made up of namesake Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Ted Dwane, and Country Wilson, formed out the folk revival that has been occurring in the UK the last few years. After some shows and eking out a sound that they could own, Mumford and company released Sigh No More first in the UK, then the US, both times to mass critical praise.
Since their US debut performances at CMJ, The Late Show With David Letterman, the quartet are ready to make sure that no American folk fan is left unturned. And don’t forget to pick up Sigh No More, out now.
