You Really Want to Hold Their Dirty Hand: BLACK LIPS in SF TONIGHT! LA SATURDAY!
The four raunchiest rockers in all the land have somehow managed to narrowly escape the strong arm of the law in India and survive a scuffle with the whipper snappers in WAVVES, so touring the West coast should be no big deal right? Wrong. DEAD wrong. I mean, come on, do you see that picture over there? Dude’s guitar is on fire…and he’s SWINGING it around on stage! Hot-lanta quartet THE BLACK LIPS ring in the new decade bringing their infamous live show to the left coast as they kick off a US tour split right down the middle by some dates down under in Australia.
They hit The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco tonight, and head down to Los Angeles Saturday night, January 23rd, to tear the El Rey Theater limb from limb playing in support of last year’s release with VICE, 200 Million Thousand. But don’t just take our word for it, see what all the oil lamp hullaballoo is about as Alabama Public Television features the band’s nefarious live show on their, yes, Emmy Award winning series We Have Signal, that also contains an interesting interview that should once and for all clear up the whole Indian debacle. Don’t worry right coasters and middle America, you’ll be able to toss those New Year’s resolutions in the trash where they belong and rage with THE BLACK LIPS soon enough.
